The First Christian Church of Indiana, Pennsylvania was organized on October 27, 1895 with 21 charter members. In July of 1896, the German Lutheran Church on the corner of 5th Street and Water Street in Indiana was purchased as the home site for The First Christian Church. About 15 years later, in 1910, the structure was torn down and a new building was erected. Improvements and editions over the years have included: remodeling the chancel (space around the alter) in 1960, purchasing adjacent ground, building an education building and fellowship hall in 1973, remodeling the annex in 1982, building a parlor in the annex in 1987, remodeling and installing air conditioning in 2002, and adding a new roof and furnace in 2013.
